Grateful.

Indeed, today is not a woe.
Today I'm going to express gratitude about this wedding.
You know, to keep you all on your toes.
And to remind you that I am actually so excited to get married.

Grateful moment #1: I get to marry my best friend in 5 weeks from Saturday. He's the light in my life, reminds me to be happy, makes me want to be a better person, loves me unconditionally, puts up with my grumpiness and pissy attitudes {which lately has been an every day thing}, spoils me rotten, and is striving to make our wedding a success, and our marriage a happy and long one.

Grateful moment #2: We {meaning me, Mom, and Dad} figured out the luncheon. Low cost. Delicious. And not being catered by Costa Vida, thank the Lord.

Grateful moment #3: I am happy that we live in a place where housing is on the cheaper side, because it's a college town. Rent isn't crazy expensive like other places, so as newlyweds we're not going to be dumping all of our meager savings into rent each month.

Grateful moment #4: Speaking of rent, me and my former roommates paid off the rest of the money that the demon landlord and her crazy ass sister were wanting from us. We successfully kept them from fulfilling their threat of taking us to court.

Grateful moment #5: Without Pinterest and Google, my wedding decorations would be a failed attempt. This week has been busy in trying to get a lot of our decorations taken care of. Crafts are piling up all over Trev's apartment, since that's where I spend most of my time. I'm using Martha Stewart skills I didn't know I had.

Grateful moment #6: Trevor has been picking up a lot of hours at work the past two weeks. He literally went from working once every two weeks, to every single day for long hours. We are blessed that both of us have jobs, patient bosses, and good hours.

Grateful moment #7: It's Lehi Roundup Week in Lehi, and we are leaving late tonight to drive up there to enjoy a weekend with my family. Parades, rodeos, snow cones, rodeo burgers, and my little brother. What more could we ask for?

Grateful moment #8: I am getting my dress altered tomorrow, and it'll be ready for pickup on Saturday. So, again, that's one less thing I have to stress about.

Grateful moment #9: My lovely aunts Shelly and Lori are throwing me a bridal shower. I know I said in woe #35 that I didn't want one, but really deep down I did. I still don't want a bachelorette party, though.

Grateful moment #10: Not related to my marriage, but I'm excited about the Supreme Court rulings yesterday about gay marriage. It's a step in the right direction for equality.

Grateful moment #11: I'm one of those spoiled people that has a great smartphone with a decent camera. I haven't had money to buy me a new camera yet, so most of my pictures lately have been on my phone. They still capture the moment just as great as a camera would have, so at least we have some sort of documentation of our relationship since April.

Grateful moment #12: My mom has been awesome through this whole wedding planning process. I thought it would turn into one of those nightmare scenarios when the mom tries to relive her wedding and takes over. My mom has been great to work with, and knows when to put in her opinion. Thanks Mom for all of your hard work.

Grateful moment #13: I picked two of the best bridesmaids in the world, even though one lives in California and one is getting married in two weeks. They've both offered themselves to help me in any way that they can.

Grateful moment #14: Can't do a grateful moment to my mom without doing one to my dad, too. It's been his checkbook that's been supporting the crafting-buying-wedding reception fiasco. And he specially ordered a tool to work on my centerpieces without having to pay $30 a block to have them done. {What are my centerpieces? You're going to have to wait and see.}

Grateful moment #15: I'm so grateful that I have had almost 8 months to plan my wedding. I've never really had a dream wedding. I didn't really know what I wanted. But alas, this wedding is turning out to be the best thing I've ever created. (:

That's enough gratitude for one night.
Everyone have a great weekend!

{P.S. I could still use opinions on woe #45 and woe #52}

  1. Hey, lady!

    Hang in there! The last few weeks are rough, but once the wedding rolls around it'll all be worth it. :)

    I hope everything works out how you want it to.
